Pengaruh Usia Donor Transplantasi Sel Punca Hemopoietik pada Kasus Leukemia Akut

Usia donor yang lebih tua telah banyak dikaitkan dengan luaran klinis lebih buruk pada pasien dewasa dengan leukemia akut yang menjalani transplantasi sel punca hemopoietik. Transplantasi sel punca hemopoietik adalah penanganan kuratif bagi banyak kelainan hematologi, termasuk leukemia. Tujuannya adalah untuk mengembalikan produksi sel darah normal dan meningkatkan peluang remisi atau penyembuhan.[1-3]

Peran Transplantasi Sel Punca Hemopoietik pada Kasus Leukemia Akut

Karakteristik donor berperan penting terhadap kesuksesan transplantasi sel punca hemopoietik (hematopoietic stem cell transplantation/HSCT). Kesenjangan genetik antara donor dan penerima, terutama pada lokus HLA, telah diketahui sebagai faktor utama yang mempengaruhi luaran HSCT. Meski begitu, karakteristik donor lainnya, termasuk usia pendonor, juga diduga berperan signifikan dalam optimalisasi luaran pasien leukemia akut.[4]
