Mamografi dan ultrasonografi (USG) payudara dapat berperan untuk deteksi dini kanker payudara. Selain untuk deteksi dini, modalitas radiologi juga digunakan untuk menilai perluasan/metastasis kanker payudara. Namun, seringkali timbul pertanyaan, pemeriksaan radiologi manakah yang lebih baik ketika dokter mengarah diagnosis kanker payudara. Artikel ini diharapkan dapat menjawab pertanyaan tersebut.[1-3]
  Modalitas untuk Breast Imaging
  Secara garis besar, modalitas untuk breast imaging adalah mamografi, ultrasonografi (USG), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), gamma radiation (nuclear medicine), dan non-ionizing radiation. Namun, di Indonesia umumnya menggunakan mamografi, USG, dan MRI. Pemeriksaan breast MRI dipercaya akan lebih akurat, tetapi ketersediaan MRI terbatas dan biaya yang mahal.[1,4]
