Waktu dan Cara yang Tepat untuk Menghentikan Antidepresan

Penghentian antidepresan secara bertahap terkadang diperlukan, misalnya ketika muncul efek paradoksikal. Dokter perlu memahami waktu dan cara menghentikan antidepresan yang tepat sehingga dapat menghindari pemberian obat yang tidak perlu dan juga munculnya sindroma putus obat.

Bagi sebagian pasien, penggunaan antidepresan dalam jangka lama memang diperlukan. Namun bagi sebagian lainnya hanya diberikan dalam periode waktu tertentu, terlebih jika terdapat kondisi ketika perlu dipertimbangkan untuk dihentikan Dokter harus mengerti bagaimana cara menghentikan antidepresan yang tepat untuk mencegah terjadinya sindroma putus obat. Hal ini tidak hanya berlaku untuk psikiater namun juga bagi para dokter umum.[1,2]
