Efikasi Masker Bedah dan Masker Respirator N95 untuk Mencegah Infeksi Saluran Pernapasan pada Tenaga Medis

Efikasi masker bedah dan masker respirator N95 dalam pencegahan transmisi infeksi saluran pernapasan pada tenaga medis sampai sekarang masih bersifat kontroversial walau kebanyakan studi menunjukkan masker respirator N95 lebih superior dibandingkan masker bedah dalam mencegah infeksi saluran pernapasan.

Tenaga medis juga perlu mengingat bahwa terlepas dari yang digunakan masker respirator N95 atau masker bedah, yang lebih penting adalah kepatuhan untuk selalu menggunakan masker bedah atau masker respirator N95 tersebut.

Pedoman klinis yang ada juga memiliki hasil yang kontroversi terkait perlu tidaknya penggunaan masker respirator N95 ketika menghadapi semua pasien dengan gejala seperti influenza.
