Patofisiologi Infeksi Virus Zika
Patofisiologi infeksi virus Zika dimulai dari transmisi oleh vektor nyamuk Aedes atau jalur transmisi lainnya yang kemudian dilanjutkan dengan replikasi virus dalam sel host yang menyebabkan kerusakan terutama pada sistem saraf, visual, muskuloskeletal, dan kardiovaskular.
Virus Zika dapat menembus plasenta sehingga menginfeksi janin pada ibu yang terinfeksi dan menyebabkan sindrom Zika kongenital. Infeksi virus Zika juga dapat mencetuskan sindrom Guillain-Barre (SGB) pada pasien dewasa.[1,20,28]
